Mental Health Professional - Adult Holly Hill Clinic (Orangeburg)

We are seeking a Mental Health Professional - Adult who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and achieve long-term wellness. This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Holly Hill Clinic, Orangeburg County 1375 Gillway St. Holly Hill SC 29059. Responsibilities Function as the primary clinician for an assigned caseload of clients and ensure that medical records are maintained based on Center standards. Provide clinical services for all clients and develop goals and objectives for treatment, interpreting clients' behavior, progress, and preparing a synopsis of clients' response to treatment. Provide individual and family counseling, act as leader or co‑leader in groups to assist clients with strengthening and restoring life skills that are significant to their needs and recovery. Provide intensive services for clients experiencing temporary difficulty with social, family issues, housing, vocational or other life crises. Conduct follow‑up activity via telephone and routine home visits when clients are non‑compliant; provide crisis management and work closely with the psychiatrist to use an internal crisis diversion program when appropriate to divert admission to a state psychiatric facility. Provide clinical documentation for services rendered in compliance with Medicaid – Section II Standards and Corporate Compliance. Participate in the Treatment Team; review clients’ progress in treatment and seek input for the Team regarding treatment interventions to meet clients’ needs or readiness for transition; disposition treatment outcomes to the internal sources assigned within the MHC for processing CARF data. Participate in staff meetings and other assigned teams essential to Center operations; participate in training opportunities essential to enhancing knowledge and skills associated with work with persons who have a serious mental illness. Student Loan Repayment This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the applicable position. Qualifications A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the other social sciences or a related field. A master’s degree in counseling, social work or psychology or other related areas with less than 1 year experience in a clinical field. Eligibility for licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LISW‑CP. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. Post-Hire Requirements Provide treatment interventions for persons served in the office and in the clients’ natural environment. Demonstrate considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of counseling and educational services. Maintain effective working relationships with clients, their families or caretakers. Provide individual and group counseling, and intensive interventions for adults and persons with mental health issues. Communicate effectively and express ideas with other professional staff, community agencies and the general public. Use sound judgement and reasoning to disposition problems and issues effectively.
