About the Organization Located on the corner of Nationwide Boulevard and Front Street in downtown Columbus, Nationwide Arena was built on a piece of property that was the site of the historic Ohio State Penitentiary. The support of naming rights partner Nationwide Insurance paved the way for the city to acquire an NHL expansion team. Nationwide Arena opened with back‑to‑back sold‑out Soul 2 Soul concerts featuring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and has since hosted the NHL All‑Star Game, regular season and playoff hockey, NCAA championships, local, regional and national conferences and a multitude of concerts and touring events. Summary Perform routine custodial work, minor maintenance, and repair work in the cleaning and upkeep of Nationwide Arena. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the condition and cleanliness of spaces as assigned, which includes specialty locker rooms, restrooms, meeting rooms, and office space. Disinfect rooms including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, stocking glass cleaning, spot cleaning, carpet cleaning, wall washing and floor refinishing. Perform bowl cleaning work which may include policing liquids, sweeping of trash, and mopping of all seating areas. Operate specialty equipment such as scrubbers, floor cleaners, vacuums, carpet cleaning machines and KaiVac restroom cleaning machines. Assist in oversight of contractor event and post‑clean work, inspect work and redirect workers as needed. Perform recovery‑cleaning tasks as scheduled. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED required; 0–1 year(s) of related experience and/or training in custodial techniques and practices in office or arena settings is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, see and communicate; frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, bend and climb stairs; occasionally required to climb or balance; occasionally must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
