Job Title Outpatient Registered Nurse 2: Behavioral Health Urgent Care - Talbot Scope of Position OSU Harding Hospital/East Hospital‑Talbot Hall offers comprehensive behavioral health services for adults, including psychiatric emergency, behavioral health urgent care, inpatient, outpatient, IOP, and partial hospitalization. The BHUC (Behavioral Health Urgent Care) provides short‑term outpatient care that bridges gaps in mental health and substance use treatment, offering rapid access and follow‑up for patients in need. Location BHUC – Talbot: 2nd Floor, Talbot Hall, 1441 Phale D. Hale Drive, Columbus, OH 43003 Responsibilities Serve as the primary responder for triage and intake of patients in the BHUC‑Talbot walk‑in clinic and handle incoming clinic phone calls. Determine clinical appropriateness of patients for BHUC‑Talbot or higher level of care and direct them accordingly. Conduct focused triage assessments, record vital signs, administer breathalyzer when indicated, and provide comfort care for withdrawal. Assist with prescription and pharmacy issues, return phone messages the same day, and respond to patient messages in MyChart. Administer Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), long‑acting injectable MAT, or psychiatric medications as prescribed by BHUC physicians or advanced practice providers. Obtain and forward lab results, urine drug screens, and provide medication education and side‑effect guidance. Coordinate patient care with the multidisciplinary BHUC team, ensuring continuity and safety. Minimum Qualifications 2 years of experience as a psychiatric RN required; BSN preferred.
