This role is responsible for performing detailed structural analysis on primary and secondary aircraft structures to ensure compliance with performance, durability, and airworthiness requirements. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically rigorous, and comfortable working in a fast-paced aerospace startup environment where analysis directly informs design decisions.This is a full-time onsite opportunity based out of El Segundo, CARESPONSIBILITIES:Perform static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis of aircraft structures including metallic and composite components Conduct classical hand calculations to assess stress, strain, margins of safety, and structural integrityGenerate structural substantiation to support FAA certification activities (Part 23 / Part 27 / Special Conditions)Collaborate closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and flight test teamsSupport trade studies to optimize weight, strength, and manufacturabilityEvaluate test results and correlate analytical predictions with ground and flight test dataAuthor and review stress reports, certification documents, and compliance findingsCreate tools and methods to efficiently conduct stress analysisSupport root-cause analysis and corrective actions for structural issues identified during testing or operationsEnsure analyses comply with Skyryse safety standards and aerospace best practicesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field6+ years of experience in aircraft structural analysis (commercial, defense, or advanced air mobility)Strong background in aircraft stress analysis principlesProficiency with FEA tools such as:NASTRAN / Patran / FEMAP / ANSYS (or equivalent)Experience with metallic and composite structuresFamiliarity with FAA certification requirements and structural compliance processesAbility to clearly document and communicate technical findingsU.S. work authorization (export-controlled environment)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical EngineeringExperience supporting Part 23 certification or military airworthinessKnowledge of loads development and aeroelastic considerationsExperience working in startup or rapid-development aerospace programsExposure to fly-by-wire or safety-critical systemsPrior collaboration with DERs or certification authoritiesWHY SKYRYSE?The opportunity to change the world through improving aviation safety and accessibility Salary Range: 160,000 - 180,000Valuable stock option planHeavily subsidized medical, dental and vision plansFull-time employees are eligible for 20 days of paid time off (PTO) and 5 sick days annually.
