Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist

Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 08:30 AM - 05:00 PM Length of Shift: 5 - 8 Hours

WA MA-P License Required

2 years of experience preferred; will consider candidates with 1 year of experience

First-time travelers are welcome

Adhere to laboratory protocols, policies, and safety procedures.

Respond to technical inquiries regarding laboratory procedures and policies.

Troubleshoot and resolve problems and customer service issues, including pending orders, specimen draws, and locating lost specimens. Seek assistance from supervisors or leads when necessary.

Locate patient results and generate reports or faxes as assigned.

Proficiently utilize computer systems, including Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).

Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Clean and prepare work areas for use.

Ensure work areas are adequately stocked with cost-effective supplies and reagents. Take inventory and reorder supplies as necessary.

Handle incoming supplies appropriately, including opening packages and proper storage.

Maintain assigned equipment according to laboratory procedures.

Dispose of specimens and hazardous waste safely and in accordance with established protocols.
