Dialysis Technician

Dialysis Tech (PCT) – Columbus East Dialysis Center, Columbus, OH DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Technician (PCT) to serve patients at our Columbus East Dialysis Center. Some Dialysis Experience Preferred Shift and Training Details Operational Hours: M/W/F opening shift 4:45 am–4:00 pm, closing shift 7:00 am–7:00 pm (rotational shifts) 3–4 days per week with a minimum of two Saturdays per month; may start as early as 4:00 am Training period typically 32–40 hours per week; hours may vary Flexible schedule required: mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Paid training program – classroom and hands‑on sessions Reimbursement for Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license Opportunities to advance to higher responsibility and compensation levels on the clinical ladder Training may take place in a facility or training clinic with other new teammates Requirements Reliability: punctual, consistent attendance; love to learn; desire to help people; early shift comfort; fast‑paced environment High school diploma or equivalent Comfortable working around blood and needles Comfortable mixing electrolytes (acid or bicarbonate) Physical & mental ability to work long hours (some shifts 12+ hours) on feet; wear comfortable shoes Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics in the territory Health care experience preferred, including BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification What You Can Expect Direct patient care. Majority of day in one‑on‑one patient care, up to 4–5 patients per shift. Technician duties. Opening shift responsibilities: water room prep, bicarbonate preparation, water testing, tool calibration. Duties include monitoring patients before, during and after dialysis, recording vitals, and machine setup. Physical requirements. Lift 5–50 pounds unassisted; perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching; use computer and peripherals. Continuous improvement. Participate in process improvement initiatives for patient and teammate experience. Build long‑term relationships. Educate patients on kidney dialysis topics; patients receive treatment three times per week. Team. Work under RN supervision with clinicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership. Schedule. Shifts may start as early as 4:00 am; exact shift times discussed during interview.
