Assembly and Test Inspector , 3rd Shift (Onsite)

Job Summary An Assembly and Test Inspector is responsible for performing functional checks on engine assembly and components, conducting dimensional and visual inspections, interpreting technical data, and ensuring quality compliance in a state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility. This position works the 3rd shift (Sunday‑Thursday midnight to 7:00am) and requires a 6.5‑hour night shift with pay for 8 hours. Responsibilities Use a wide variety of power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assembly and components. Perform dimensional and visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques, including surface plate work and standard measuring techniques to verify accuracy of parts, tools, gauges, and equipment. Accept or reject material based on inspection findings and document results on inspection procedures and engineering drawings. Plan and perform dimensional and/or visual inspections on parts, tools, gauges, and other equipment in accordance with written inspection procedures and other pertinent instructions. Derive and apply mathematical computations to resolve the extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork. Execute in‑line checks and verifications of dimensions, ensuring operation sheets and procedures are followed. Assist with additional tasks within the scope and skill level of the position to support department objectives and develop individual skills. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: High school graduate or GED; 1+ year formal training in power‑plant mechanics and testing or 1+ year automotive training or experience. Preferred Qualifications: A & P license; 4+ years in a similar function; prior MRO/FAR 145 repair station experience; formal training in power‑plant mechanics and testing; well‑rounded knowledge of FAA and aviation standards, jet engine design and operation, jet engine hardware and components, instrumentation installations, engine assembly or test stand experience; SAP, Solumina experience; creative troubleshooting skills; excellent judgment and professional maturity; ability to obtain and maintain certifications to operate powered industrial vehicles.
