Join us and our 18,000 colleagues now and together we will make the world a brighter place.As a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician at our Newark, OH facility, you will be responsible for the maintenance of extrusion equipment and associated processes.This role offers a starting pay between $39.33 and $41.73 per hour (paid bi-weekly), with the opportunity to reach a top pay of $47.18 per hour based on time in the role. This is a full-time role that includes annual bonus potential, generous paid time off, 401K with company match, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, parental leave and medical, dental and vision coverage (no waiting period).Major ResponsibilitiesWorks safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following all Covestro standard operating proceduresRepair and maintain process control systems, programmable logic controllers, HMI programs, laboratory instrumentation, instrumentation systems, and electrical controlsRepair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as extruders, pelletizers, screeners, vacuum pumps, heat exchangers, electric motors, and compressorsTroubleshoot issues with HVAC systems, cooling towers and chillers, hydraulic and pneumatic systemsTroubleshoot PLC, HMI programsProgram control systemsMonitor project start-upsDesign electrical systems and instrument control loopsEvaluate instrument and electrical hardwareCommunicate with manufacturer's field engineers as neededInitiate purchase requisitions for parts and equipmentRepairs or replaces defective parts, using hand or power toolsPerforms preventive maintenance on all systems and equipmentTrouble shoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systemsPerform basic pipefitting tasksDismantles devices to gain access to and for removal of defective parts; using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power toolsLubricates and cleans partsCoordinates and schedules projects with maintenance, production, laboratory and storeroomInspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrumentsInstalls and removes machines utilizing various rigging devicesExamines form and texture of parts to detect imperfectionsRepairs and maintains HVAC systems, cooling towers and chillersRepairs barrel cooling systems (steam)Basic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience in Maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation and pneumatic control systemsRequired to take WorkKeys Test and receive qualifying test scores on the following assessments: Workplace Documents (6), Applied Math (6), Applied Technology (5) and Graphic Literacy (5)Preferred Qualifications:Associates degree in Electromechanical Technology or closely related degree and 2 years of experience in Maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation and pneumatic control systemsExperience using Allen Bradley equipmentKnowledge & Skills:Obtain/maintain a valid forklift licenseAbility to read and understand diagram, sketches, operation manualsAbility to operate Windows-based computer systems as well as ability to use SAP system to perform maintenance and engineering tasksExcellent verbal and written communication skills
