Infusion RN

The Infusion Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients receiving intravenous and injectable therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic agents, blood products, and other medications. This role involves patient assessment, safe medication administration, monitoring for reactions, patient education, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure effective and safe treatment delivery. Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition before, during, and after treatments
• Review medical history, laboratory results, and treatment orders
• Monitor vital signs and patient response during treatment
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other IV and injectable medications
• Access and manage vascular devices including ports, PICC lines, and central lines
• Follow strict protocols for safe handling of hazardous drugs
• Ensure accurate dosage calculations and infusion rates
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications such as allergic reactions or extravasation
• Provide emergency intervention when needed
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and symptom management
• Provide guidance on infection prevention and self-care during treatment
• Support patients emotionally throughout the therapy process
• Collaborate with providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
• Communicate patient concerns or changes in condition to providers
• Document treatment administration, patient responses, and side effects in electronic medical records
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies
• Perform other duties as requested

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license; Compact Licensure holders must obtain WI license within 90 days
• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
• ACLS certification required or obtained within 1 year of hire
• Current ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card or obtained within 6 months of hire
• Knowledge of IV therapy and vascular access management
• Ability to safely handle chemotherapy and hazardous drugs
• Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and documentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving abilities

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
• Experience in chemotherapy or infusion nursing
• Previous experience with hazardous drug protocols and patient education

• Must adhere to strict chemotherapy safety and hazardous drug handling protocols
• Ability to respond rapidly to patient reactions and emergencies
• Emotional support skills important for patient care during treatment

• Full-time day shift, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
