Electronic Billing Specialist - Law Firm - Chicago - Must have prior legal ebilling experience within a law firm!! $75-90k. A flexible, hybrid work schedule is available with this opportunity!
Well known law firm in Chicago seeks an experienced Electronic Billing Specialist to handle the full billing process for multiple attorneys across several offices.
Experience with Aderant, Elite, 3E, or similar legal billing software is required.
Current/prior legal billing experience is 100% required.
Experience with E-Billing/Electronic Billing is required. E-Billing Hub experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update e-billing software systems (e.g., Elite, Aderant, 3E)
- Configure system settings to comply with client-specific requirements
- Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve system errors
- Review and analyze time entries and expense reports for accuracy and compliance
- Prepare accurate and timely invoices in accordance with client guidelines and firm policies
- Submit invoices through various e-billing portals and platforms
- Monitor invoice status and follow up on any issues or rejections
- Respond to client inquiries and resolve billing-related issues
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff members
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Generate reports on billing data, including key metrics and performance indicators
- Analyze billing trends and identify opportunities for improvement
- Prepare and present reports to management
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices
- Ensure compliance with client-specific billing guidelines and firm policies
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with e-billing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of legal billing practices and procedures
- Proficiency in e-billing/legal billing software systems (e.g., Elite, 3E, Aderant, TyMetrix, Serengeti, etc.)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
