Turnkey Foundation and Turnkey Flatwork Estimator Position
Description:
•Estimator - Construction
Estimator - Construction Job Purpose:
•Study construction plans (architectural, engineering and soil reports) and prepare
proposals.
Estimator - Construction Duties:
•Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting
priorities.
•Prepares construction budget by studying home plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.
•Creates and maintains relationships with key company vendors to stay abreast of price
changes in steel/rebar, concrete, accessories and other related construction materials
that will affect proposal pricing. These price changes are then to be incorporated into
the proposal pricing formula template so that accurate proposals will be created going
forward.
•Resolves cost discrepancies/issues by collecting and analyzing information.
•Maintains quality service and work by following company rules for making proposals.
•Maintains professional and technical knowledge by keeping abreast of estimating
techniques and procedures
•Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
•Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and coordinate with Superintendents and create Purchase Orders for them when Job Files (accepted proposals) are created.
•Ability to be able to view surplus construction materials in company yard and recycle
this material for new jobs when possible (as opposed to ordering new material when
possible).
Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
•Ability to use Excel and have a good working knowledge of Excel is a must.
•Ability to create proposals using a digitizer board is a must.
•Ability to use Plan Swift (which will be used to make most of the proposals) is a plus.
•Ability to be able to read plans (architectural, engineering and soil reports) is a must.
Other:
•Ability to speak English AND Spanish is a big plus.
