Registered Nurse PACU

Registered Nurse – PACU – Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Pre-op/PACU Director. Implement the Post Anesthesia Care record, nursing care plan, and assimilation of the patient’s hospital record. Implement all physician orders and provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, continuously evaluating patients’ condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy. Assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure/Certification: Current Texas Nursing License; Current CPR, ACLS; PALS preferred. Required Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience in a hospital setting. 2 years critical care experience preferred. Pre-Op PACU experience strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills. Good organizational habits. Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient. Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation. Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics. Excellent teaching skills. Basic knowledge of continuous quality improvement ideology.
