Registered Nurse PACU

Registered Nurse PACU Under direct supervision of the Pre‑op/PACU Director. Responsible for implementing the Post Anesthesia Care record, nursing care plan and assimilation of the patient’s hospital record. Implement all physician orders, ensuring continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients’ condition, providing patient safety, comfort and privacy at all times. Occasionally assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and use of sterile technique as needed. Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure/Certification Current Texas Nursing License. Current CPR, ACLS certification. PALS preferred. Required Experience Minimum of two (2) years in a hospital setting. Preferred: 2 years critical care experience. Preferred: Pre‑Op PACU experience. Excellent communication skills. Strong organizational habits. Ability to adapt to change quickly, with strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient. Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation. Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics. Excellent teaching skills.
