Job Title: Fire Sprinkler Manager The purpose of the Fire Sprinkler Manager position is to provide oversight of the overall management, operations, and financial performance for the assigned Sprinkler department(s). Performs consistently as a subject matter expert, to achieve communicated objectives to include profitability, growth, and overall performance metrics for assigned department. Responsibilities Oversight of the fire sprinkler department including performance of inspections, services, and installations. Responsible for the financial performance of assigned department, as indicated on Profit & Loss (P&L) statements as well as departmental gross revenue, gross margin, and overhead. Communicate and strategize with management about financial progress, growth strategies, human capital requirements, and regular or irregular needs of the office. Ensure proper execution of internal workflow/paperwork, field work, quality assurance/quality control, and that all work is performed safely within local, state, and federal guidelines. Achieve departmental objectives through enhancement and improvements of operations and processes. Maintain proper staffing levels using company procedures and policies, in conjunction with bid projection and using Human Resources for talent requirements. Oversee proper use, maintenance, and repair of company assets including equipment, tools, supplies, and fleet in coordination with corporate purchasing and fleet departments. Manage work performed within assigned area including spot checks, ride‑a‑longs, and ongoing training. Perform spot checks of recent field work to review quality of services, compliance with codes and standards, and customer satisfaction. Conduct ride‑a‑longs with field technicians to enhance customer care, quality control, work efficiency, safety, product/service upsells, and new customer acquisition. Review and track routes for each technician, adjust when needed to approve route efficiency, and train CSRs or technicians on efficient scheduling. Conduct monthly shop meetings with field and office staff focused on safety toolbox talks. Attend and monitor install project meetings and other coordination meetings as needed. Oversee coordination and execution of inspections and service jobs in assigned area. Lead coordination of final checkout/commissioning with AHJ, owner, architect/engineer, general contractor, and construction manager. Ensure correct and necessary communication of schedules, product/materials, and coordination of work between sales and operations to allow for planning and scheduling. Review shop material preparation, orders, job staging, and tool preparation for job scheduling. Manage material orders to regulate standard stock quantities in coordination with purchasing department for order placement. Oversee communication with billing department for accurate and timely invoicing practices. Oversee the sales department with business development to achieve increased market share and participate in quote presentations for legacy customers. Promote and coordinate continuing education and certification of employees. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education, Training, Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent, required. Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements 3 years of Fire Life Safety Industry experience specifically within Fire Suppression, required. 3 years of professional computer skills, preferred. 2 years of supervisory experience, preferred. Communication Skills Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with employees and customers. Systems and Software Skills Familiarity with analytical business intelligence systems, Sage 300 CRE, or similar. Other Qualifications Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, required. Must be able to comply with SFP’s Drug and Alcohol policy and background screening requirements. Must be able to travel 90% of the time. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Physical: frequently required to bend, ascend and descend step stools, ladders and stairs, kneel, lift 50 lbs, sit, stoop, twist, and work at heights. Needs color vision, close and far distance, peripheral, depth, adjusting focus. Work Environment: regularly required to work outside, exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, and noise. Occasionally required indoors in an office setting. Must consistently wear all appropriate personal protective equipment as required by company safety policies while visiting locations.
