Accountant

We are a multi-division family business located in Easthampton, Massachusetts, engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of products serving industries worldwide. We are looking for an Accountant with a strong analytical mindset, solid accounting fundamentals, and excellent organizational skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with deadlines, and able to support day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and financial close activities. Adhesive Applications specialize in the manufacturing and converting of pressure sensitive tapes: MHXCO specialize in foam manufacturing: Chemetal specialize in the finishing and distribution of metal sheet goods and decorative laminates: October Company specialize in the manufacture of furniture products: Responsibilities Perform bank, cash, credit card, and expense report reconciliations. Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and related accounting entries. Complete credit applications. Maintain accurate AR records, apply credits and collections, review aging, and clear account differences. Monitor customer accounts and assist with collections by phone, email, and mail. Keep up on AP vendor accounts (W-9’s and changes). Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment. Resolve accounts payable and accounts receivable issues or inquiries. Track and maintain fixed asset records. Prepare and support sales and use tax filings and related reconciliations. Manage end-to-end accounting functions. Perform month-end close, journal entries, general ledger review, financial reporting, and tax or audit requests. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. MS in Accounting, CPA or CPA-track experience is preferred. Intermediate Excel skills required, including formulas, lookups, and data review. Experience with commonly used accounting or ERP systems is preferred. Ability to use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
