Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in a small community hospital setting. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals and engage actively with patients to ensure their needs are met effectively.

Beds: 123

Location: Spokane Valley, WA

Patient Types: MS, critical care, emergency, COVID, primarily adults and geriatric patients; pediatric experience is a plus.

Patient Ratios: Varies based on census and acuity using a points system for determining assignments.

Licensure and Certifications:

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Washington State license

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years in critical care and respiratory therapy, with familiarity in utilizing ventilators, BiPAP, HFNC, and other respiratory equipment.
• Basic respiratory therapy skills are essential; nursery experience is advantageous but not mandatory if NRP certified.

Strong support from the Respiratory Therapy Manager and Team Lead.

Electronic Medical Records: EPIC (experience required).

Equipment: Getinge Servo-u ventilators and Pyxis medication dispensing system.

Due to the small size of the facility, staff may be assigned to various departments as needed, providing a versatile work experience without floating to other facilities.

Orientation consists of 1 day of hospital orientation, followed by 2-3 precepted shifts based on comfort level.

Weekend rotation is required, working every other weekend.

Shift Times: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM.

Schedule is released 6 weeks in advance.
