Details Inpatient pediatric oncology unit Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) Patient ratio of 1:4 Uses Epic charting system May float to other UCSF facilities within a 75 mile radius as needed Requirements Active CA RN license required BSN required Current AHA BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Oncology/Inpatient Oncology experience required Teaching hospital experience required Epic charting experience preferred 2 references from most recent employer required for consideration APHON certification preferred Chemo (ONS/ONCC) certification preferred Hem/Onc experience preferred Additional Information Responsibilities include chemotherapy administration, port access and management, and central line/PICC line care Manage oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression Provide symptom management for nausea, neuropathy, mucositis, and altered mental status Administer antiemetics, corticosteroids, antitumor agents, and other oncology-related medications Care for patients with brain cancer, leukemia, blood dyscrasias, and lymphoma Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit All RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager prior to start; no additional requests accepted mid-contract, and RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names, for rehire eligibility review American Traveler Job ID P-748269.
