Join a Well-Established Colorado Law Firm

We are a well-established Colorado law firm seeking an experienced, motivated, and client-focused Family Law Attorney to join our growing practice as a full-time independent contractor. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely while enjoying the support, stability, and consistent caseload of an established litigation practice.

The successful candidate will primarily manage a family law caseload throughout Colorado. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to expand into criminal defense matters based upon experience, interest, and demonstrated litigation ability.

This position requires a minimum commitment of 115 billable hours per month, with additional work available for attorneys seeking a larger caseload.

Compensation

$130.00 per billable hour, depending on experience, qualifications, litigation experience, and demonstrated ability.

Primary Practice Areas

The attorney's primary caseload will include:

• Dissolution of Marriage
• Allocation of Parental Responsibilities
• Child Support
• Spousal Maintenance
• Protection Orders
• Contempt Proceedings
• Post-Decree Modifications
• Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements
• Enforcement of Court Orders
• Other family law matters as assigned

For attorneys with the appropriate experience and interest, additional criminal defense cases may also be assigned.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Independently manage assigned family law matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy.
• Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials throughout Colorado.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and support staff.
• Conduct client consultations and provide strategic legal advice.
• Manage discovery, negotiations, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Maintain accurate billing records and timely time entries.
• Meet court deadlines while providing exceptional client service.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

• Active license to practice law in Colorado and be in good standing.
• Experience handling Colorado family law matters.
• Strong litigation and courtroom advocacy skills.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to outstanding client service.

Criminal defense experience is welcomed but is not required.

Work Arrangement

This is an  entirely remote 1099 independent contractor position . Attorneys may work from anywhere within Colorado but must be available to appear in Colorado courts as required.

Unlike traditional contract positions, the firm provides the infrastructure necessary for attorneys to focus on practicing law.

• Case management software
• Scheduling and e-filing assistance

All clients are retained through the firm. Attorneys are not responsible for business development, trust accounting, billing, collections, or administrative operations.
