The Mapleton Foundry is one of the largest in the United States and home to the largest core making machine in the world! Working at the foundry is hard work that demands focus and safety, quality, and commitment to helping our customers build a better world. With over 800 employees at the foundry, we are looking for someone who can support process development projects for the continuous improvement of safety, quality, velocity and cost of manufacturing.

Position Description:

Processes requisitions and provides support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.

What you will do:

• Developing improvement plans to support buyers & professionals related to Response Time, Lean Targets Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to enable optimal and efficient operations.

• Performing analysis and maintenance of assigned processes that produce output excellence, builds expertise for the assign process area, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

• Supporting customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.

• Performing analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.

What you will have:

Data-driven Decision Making: Basic knowledge of the data-driven decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to gather and analyze data to make organizational decisions that align with strategic business objectives and goals.

Procurement: Basic knowledge of buying and procurement; ability to work with organizational strategies and practices, and use tools for buying goods, supplies, equipment and services needed to conduct business.

Knowledge of a Specific Procurement System: Basic knowledge of the features, functions and operations of MFG Pro, Lognet, and Procure.

Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Basic knowledge of policies, regulations and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment and services.

Logistics Management: Basic knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies.

Top candidates will possess:

• Previous Foundry Experience

• Experience in purchase order grief

• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerBI

• This is a 1st shift position in Mapleton, IL

Summary Pay Range:

$72,360.00 - $108,540.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
