Registered Nurse – Med/Surg OncologyWilmington, NC | Acute CareContract | Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend requiredKey ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to a general medical-surgical oncology patient population, including patients receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy (IV, PO, or injection), and those with diagnoses such as AKI, sepsis, cancer, septic shock, malignant neoplasms, and diabetic foot ulcersPerform and manage clinical skills including port access, central line blood draws, PICC line management, peripheral line care, blood product administration, heparin and insulin drips, colostomy care, wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, and chest tube managementMaintain patient ratios of 1:6; during periods of increased census, ratios may be higherFloat to similar units and alternate care locations as needed, including inpatient holding areasDocument using EPIC, communicate via SBAR, and manage medications through PYXISAttend monthly staff meetings and make up any called-out shifts as rescheduled; contract staff may be required to participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events or disastersRequired QualificationsActive RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending license acceptable for submission)BLS certification requiredMinimum 2 years of inpatient nursing experience requiredWillingness to obtain the ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification prior to or during the assignment; onsite training is availableMust pass EKG testing prior to assignment startCandidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local rate will applyPreferred Experience / SkillsONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification already obtainedExperience with non-invasive airway management, nasal cannula, isolation precautions, and chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac)Familiarity with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR communication frameworksFirst-time travelers are acceptedWhy Join UsLonger contract lengths (up to 26 weeks) may be available, offering extended stability in a specialized oncology settingOnsite chemotherapy training is provided, supporting professional growth and certification attainment during your assignment
