Director of Housekeeping

Facility: Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Position: Director of Housekeeping Location: Hazlet, NJ Schedule: Full-Time Salary: $70,000–$75,000 annually About the Role Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced Director of Housekeeping to oversee housekeeping operations and ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, families, and staff. Responsibilities Oversee and supervise the housekeeping department and staff. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, infection control, and safety. Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and schedules. Conduct regular inspections and address deficiencies promptly. Manage housekeeping supplies, equipment, and inventory. Coordinate housekeeping services with Nursing, Dietary, Maintenance, and other departments. Participate in facility surveys, inspections, and quality assurance/infection control committees. Develop plans of correction for identified deficiencies. Complete reports, staff evaluations, and other administrative responsibilities. Lead departmental meetings and support staff development. Requirements Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing home, skilled nursing facility, or related healthcare setting. Knowledge of environmental services, safety regulations, and infection control practices. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work professionally and compassionately with residents, families, staff, and vendors.
