Commercial Construction Estimator (Interior/Exterior Framing, Drywall, Rough Carpentry)

 

Location: New Wilmington/ Hybrid 

Position Type: Full-Time

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Estimator specializing in interior and exterior framing, drywall, and rough carpentry. In this role, you will prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals for commercial projects, collaborating closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are competitively priced and profitable.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and scope of work to prepare accurate cost estimates for framing, drywall, and rough carpentry trades.

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and material quotes to ensure competitiveness and quality.

• Develop detailed cost breakdowns and takeoffs, ensuring alignment with project specifications.

• Work with project managers to assess risks, labor requirements, and schedule constraints to incorporate into estimates.

• Prepare bid proposals, ensuring timely delivery and professional presentation.

• Collaborate with clients and design teams to provide value engineering options and cost-saving solutions.

• Maintain and update estimating databases, historical costs, and takeoff tools.

• Stay current with market trends, labor rates, and material costs to ensure competitive bidding.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, with a focus on framing, drywall, and rough carpentry.

• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar platforms).

• Strong understanding of building codes, materials, and construction techniques.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
