Primary Care Physician

Job DescriptionA premier Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Las Vegas is seeking a dedicated, full-time Primary Care Physician to provide high-quality primary, urgent, or specialty medical care to our diverse patient population.Essential Job Functions:\n\n \n Patient Care: Provide comprehensive primary, urgent, or specialty care. Develop individualized care plans including complete medical histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, and appropriate treatments or referrals.\n \n Diagnostics & Treatment: Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (laboratory and radiological) in a cost-efficient manner, explaining results clearly to patients. Prescribe necessary medications or therapies.\n \n Continuity of Care: Refer patients to specialists when required while maintaining primary responsibility for ongoing care coordination. Confers with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and families.\n \n Coverage & Schedule: On a rotational basis, serve as the on-call physician when the clinic is closed and participate in Saturday clinic rotations. Maintain hospital privileges if required for inpatient or emergency room coverage.\n \n Preventative Health: Emphasize and advocate for preventative healthcare measures and counsel patients on wellness.\n \n Collaboration & Leadership: Supervise mid-level providers (NPs/PAs) as needed. Assist in training para-professional, non-medical personnel, and rotating medical or nursing students.\n \n Compliance & Admin: Document clinical encounters electronically within the organization's EHR system. Attend medical staff meetings, comply with all state and federal regulations, and participate in Quality Assurance and performance improvement programs.\nQualifications:\n\n \n Education: Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.\n \n Licensure: Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice medicine in the State of Nevada.\n \n Certification: Board eligible or certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Ob/Gyn, or Emergency Medicine.
