Tech - MLT/Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides high-quality laboratory testing and technical support as a Medical Laboratory Technician, ensuring accurate and timely results to aid clinical decision-making. Supports routine and specialized testing in a fast-paced laboratory environment, adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and analysis.
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests with precision and accuracy.
Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and QC errors to maintain optimal operation.
Communicate technical information effectively to medical staff and laypersons.
Assist in training laboratory personnel in procedures and safety protocols.
Participate in continuing education to stay current with industry standards.

Qualifications:

Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant scientific discipline.
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP BOC or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in Hematology and Chemistry.
Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory safety, quality control, and instrumentation.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a rotating schedule.
South Carolina RN or Medical Technologist license preferred; pending licenses accepted.
