## District AccountantApplylocations: Orlando - East, FLtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 2 Days Agojob requisition id: R516The District Accountant is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely fund-level financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.This position offers a hybrid work arrangement (after completion of training), Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm. PFM’s Orlando East location is on Quadrangle Boulevard near UCF.Candidates selected to interview will be subject to a skills assessment on reading financials and Microsoft Excel.Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities* Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly financial statements and budget to actual report* Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures* Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met* Full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor communications to ensure timely and accurate disbursements* Coordinate accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate billing, timely collection of payments, and reconciliation of accounts* Ensure accurate and timely year-end close processes* Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities* Continuous management and support of budget activities* Prepare for annual financial audit and correspond with auditor* Correspond with property owners regarding non-ad valorem assessments* Perform additional accounting duties as assigned, in support of overall financial operations and compliance.Education and Experience* Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college/university* Two to three (2-3) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in government or professional services* Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles* Knowledge of auditing practices and principles* Knowledge and experience of accounting computer applications* Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorshipKey Competencies* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and reporting* Strong organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines* Ability to plan effectively and manage multiple priorities simultaneously* Strategic thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities* Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal* Sound judgment and the ability to make informed decisions independently* Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with intermediate capabilitiesThe District Accountant is eligible to receive robust total rewards including generous flexible paid time off, tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment, performance-based bonuses, 401k retirement plan with employer match and annual profit-sharing opportunity, medical/dental/vision insurance, health and wellness benefits, and disability and life insurance.
