A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Part-Time, On-Site, Administrative Nurse Manager in Newton, NJ! (16 hours one week, 40 hours next).

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Manager RN to provide hospital-wide leadership and operational oversight during off-shifts at Newton Medical Center in Newton, NJ. This role is responsible for promoting patient safety, quality care, service excellence, and regulatory compliance while supporting nursing teams and coordinating hospital operations.

The ideal candidate is a strong nursing leader with excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills who can confidently manage staffing, respond to emergencies, resolve concerns, and collaborate with multiple departments.

• The pay for this position is $62/hr
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Administrative Nurse Manager Highlights

• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
• The required availability for this position

o   Weekdays: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, two days per week

o   Every other weekend: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

o   Rotation: A recurring two-week schedule that includes Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday, Thursday, and Friday before repeating.

Administrative Nurse Manager Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds throughout patient care areas to assess patient needs, acuity, and staffing requirements.
• Serve as the senior administrative authority on-site during off-shifts, making operational decisions and coordinating hospital-wide activities.
• Respond to emergencies, incident reports, operational challenges, and emergency codes, including mass casualty events, IT downtime, and utility failures.
• Support patient throughput and coordinate patient transfers and bed assignments.
• Monitor staffing levels in relation to patient census and acuity, making adjustments to ensure safe, cost-effective staffing.
• Promote compliance with organizational policies, evidence-based nursing practices, OSHA, Joint Commission standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Oversee mandatory Department of Health reporting and ensure accurate documentation of significant events, staffing changes, and patient or family concerns.
• Address concerns from patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff members with professionalism, empathy, and timely follow-up.
• Facilitate conflict resolution, service recovery, and communication with senior leadership when necessary.
• Provide guidance, coaching, feedback, and performance documentation for nursing staff.
• Communicate patient safety and quality concerns to the appropriate leaders and support quality improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate daily huddles, promote teamwork, and encourage employee engagement and recognition.
• Support shared governance, professional nursing autonomy, and the organization's Magnet journey.
• Participate in committees and perform additional administrative duties as needed.

Administrative Nurse Manager Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
• At least three years of healthcare management experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with quality initiatives, action plans, and auditing.
• Experience with Joint Commission preparation for disease-specific certification.
• Proven ability to coach teams, promote collaboration, and work across multiple departments.
• Strong time management, multitasking, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare, or Finance.
• PALS certification (required within six months of hire).
• Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge or training.
• Certification in the candidate's area of specialty.
