Lead Aircraft Support Technician

The Lead Aircraft Support Technician (AST) reports to the immediate AST Supervisor and carries out assigned duties using JetBlue Airways procedures. The AST Lead is a working member of the Cabin Maintenance (MX) group, who at the direction of the AST Supervisor assists in the performance of AST Supervisor duties. Responsibilities Assign and direct the work of ASTs based on scheduled and unscheduled workloads Determine if work performed adheres to company policies, publications or other appropriate authority Check the aircraft maintenance log when assigned to meet aircraft and takes any actions required to respond to discrepancies entered Complete required paperwork accurately using procedures set forth in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM) Helps coordinate with Line Maintenance Supervisors and Lead Maintenance Technicians with the nightly cabin maintenance and servicing of JetBlueAircraftassigned to theAircraftSupportTechnicians Ensure use of only approved and certified hardware, parts, and equipment to be installed or used on aircraft and verifies calibration period has not been exceeded for work that requires calibrated tools or equipment Conduct crew briefings Occasionally acts as AST Supervisor when AST Supervisor is off duty, on Paid Time Off (PTO), or away from the BlueCity Willing to work variable hours, including weekends and irregular shifts Assist in performing routine and non-routine maintenance on aircraft Other duties as assigned Minimum Experience and Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma One (1) year related work experience Ability to communicate effectively; in both oral and written communication Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop frequently in confined spaces Able to drive tugs, trucks and other company equipment Ability to work under pressure in a team environment Ability to remain alert to moving vehicles and aircraft Posses and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance Available for occasional overnight travel (10%) Willing to work variable hours, including weekends and irregular shifts Must pre-employment drug test Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship Preferred Experience and Qualifications One (1) year experience working Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s) Part 121 aircraft or military Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and the Internet Strongleadership abilities Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a dynamic environment Ability to think creatively Regular attendance and punctuality Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice Able to maintain a professional appearance When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR)) Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position. (Medium) Compensation The base pay for this position starts with $28.00 per hour with a $3.00 per hour premium.
