X-Ray Technician

Job Title X‑Ray Technician Overview A trained medical professional performing radiological duties in compliance with regulatory and departmental requirements, ensuring exams are technically satisfactory, properly positioned, and processed to meet quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Position patient under X‑ray machine, adjust immobilization devices, and provide appropriate radiation protection. Adjust switches regulating length and intensity of exposure. Perform patient‑care activities to assist physicians, including procedures, EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections. Prepare reports and maintain records of services rendered; maintain radiological film files and storage. Pull X‑rays as required for referrals and/or copying; keep logs for X‑rays sent out for referrals. Maintain an updated log consolidating X‑rays performed against reports received. Maintain supplies, equipment, and practice OSHA safety standards; perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Competent‑level business acuity and in‑depth knowledge of medical products, core job‑related functions, practices, processes, procedures, techniques, and methods. Empathetic and courteous professional demeanor toward patients, family members, and colleagues. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Skilled in operating phones, personal computers, software, and other IT systems. Detail‑oriented for accurate reports and data. Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, center and area leaders, care team members, and front office staff. Calm in busy or stressful situations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant systems. Willing to travel locally, regionally, or nationally up to 30% of the time; flexible to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed. Fluent in spoken and written English. Education & Experience Graduate from an accredited program for Radiological Technology or a basic X‑ray machine operator program (required). Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred). Minimum of 1year of X‑ray technologist work experience in a healthcare environment (required; 2years preferred). Licensed and/or certified if required by state regulations. Experience with EMR systems (preferred). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within first 90 days. Compensation Hourly rate: $24.00 – $34.25.
