Wedding Associate Job Description- Chicago Part Time/Seasonal Contractor Company Background Kait Schmidt Thabet, Founder and Chief Planner, began her event planning journey in the Midwest at the age of 16, a journey marked by perseverance and passion. After graduating from Marquette University, Kait entered the traditional workforce, but felt a misalignment with this setting and its culture. By the end of 2023, Kait made the bold decision to retire from traditional employment and follow her bliss with Celebrait by Kait full time. Position Summary The Wedding Associate will enjoy a fast‑paced, energized environment with primary duties of wedding prep and day‑of performance. This role is perfect for those with a client‑first mindset who desire to go “above and beyond” to tailor the client experience. All Associates are expected to follow CBK standard operating procedures. The guiding principle for every client’s wedding day is to be the “brains” that alleviates all associated stress. Role Responsibilities Attend Client planning meetings as needed On a high level, this position is responsible for ensuring every aspect of the wedding day (within company control) is performed flawlessly and to the client’s specifications (includes wedding party prep, transportation confirmation, being the vendor liaison/primary contact) Ability to think on your feet and make decisive judgment calls Setup and tear‑down of ceremony and reception space(s) Maintain a clean, professional, and calm appearance at all times Requirements 18+ years of age Residing in the city of Chicago Reliable transportation including proof of driver’s license and car insurance High School Diploma Based in Milwaukee or Chicago (2 different roles) Ability to lift 20+ pounds for setup and takedown at events Positive attitude, ability to think on your feet and handle time‑sensitive matters, as well as alignment with Celebrait by Kait mission. Desired Requirements Prior professional event planning experience We offer competitive pay based on experience.
