You should hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution. A current state licensure as a Physical Therapist is required, with CPR certification being preferred. Additionally, while specialized certifications in neurological or geriatric care can be beneficial, they are not mandatory.Your previous experience in the field will be beneficial, especially when treating patients with complex medical backgrounds, and strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. Familiarity with digital charting systems will also be an asset.
