Registered Nurse Unit Manager

Full-Time RN Unit ManagersThe Plaza Rehab and Nursing Center is currently seeking a Full-Time RN Unit Managers for day (7am-3pm), evening (3pm-11pm) night (11pm-7am) and Weekend shifts to join our dynamic organization.Unit Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing day to day patient care, supervising, directing and developing nurse staff, and reporting to the Director of Nursing to ensure quality patient care within a long-term care center, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community.Responsibilities include:Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients as well as nursing staff in a position to understand service requirements.Assure quality of care by enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirementsMaintain nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, scheduling and training nurses and auxiliary staff.Maintain safe and clean working environmentEnsure operations of medical and administrative equipment verifying emergency equipment availability; completing preventive maintenance requirements.Maintain a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.Requirements include:Valid RN License in the State of New YorkCPR/BLS certifiedMinimum 2+ years in nursing home or other healthcare setting and a minimum 1-year experience as a nurse supervisor
