Overview Collections Paralegal — JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with a full-service law firm in search of a Collections Paralegal to join its team. The Collections Paralegal should have experience in creditor rights, debt collection litigation, and judgment enforcement. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and have experience with document management software, NYCEF filing and related programs. Location: Rochester, NY Base pay range $50,000.00/yr - $72,000.00/yr Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of collection files, including commercial and consumer accounts, ensuring timely and accurate case progression. Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents related to collection matters. Conduct thorough review of client documentation to confirm claim validity and compliance with applicable laws. Coordinate service of process, court filings (both electronic and in-person), and related deadlines. Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and debtors to facilitate resolution. Monitor case calendars, track statute of limitations, and ensure compliance with procedural requirements. Prepare settlement agreements, payment plans, and satisfaction of judgment documents. Support attorneys in trial preparation and hearings as needed. Maintain accurate billing records and case status updates in the firm’s case management system. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 3+ years of paralegal experience in collections, creditors’ rights, or litigation. Knowledge of New York State and federal debt collection laws and court procedures. Proficiency in e-filing systems (NYSCEF). Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal case management software preferred. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
