Urology Physician

We are seeking a highly qualified Urology Physician to join our team for a full-time locum position covering a trauma level 1 hospital. The schedule primarily includes 24-hour call shifts, with specific dates in July requiring continuous coverage from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and some shorter 10-hour call shifts. The physician will provide emergent and elective urological procedures, including vasectomy, cystoscopy, prostate procedures, ureteroscopy, penile implants, lithotripsy, circumcision, and rare opportunities for pediatric cases and OB support as needed.

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
• PA License preferred for quicker onboarding
• DEA registration
• Minimum of 1 year of experience
• Willingness to support new Advanced Practice Providers
• Credentialing in approximately 90 days; temporary licenses accepted with a clean file
• Active PA License or IMLC LOQ in hand

Practice and Support Details:

• EMR: EPIC
• Setting: Hospital
• Robotic surgery and scope procedures included but not mandatory
• Supervisions of NP/PA required
• Support staff includes 4 Medical Assistants, 1 Certified Surgical Assistant, and 1 Registered Nurse
• Equipment includes cystoscope, towers, injections, and office supplies
• Supervised procedures available but not mandatory in all cases
• Patient population: Adults over 18, with some pediatric and OB support occasionally
• Operating rooms: 16 total at York Hospital and Apple Hill Surgery

Schedule:

• July 4-10, with additional coverage on July 27-31
• 24/7 beeper call, with callback hours typically 2-6 hours per day
• Shift type: 24-hour call, with some days involving 10-hour call shifts
• Shifts aligned with hospital needs, including in-OR procedures
