Description:
This position is for a respiratory therapist in a busy unit.
The facility has 290 beds and a staff of 21 dedicated professionals.
On the day shift, there are 6 therapists and a supervisor.
During the night shift, there are 4 therapists.
Patient ratios are maintained according to best practices.
Typical equipment includes Servo and 840 ventilators.
The electronic medical record system used is EMR.
Typical procedures include nebulizer treatments and ABG collections from A-lines and sticks.
The therapist may assist in intubations and codes.
Rapid responses and teamwork are essential aspects of the role.
Candidates should be prepared to work every other weekend and holidays.
This is a float unit, and flexibility is a must.
The working environment is fast-paced, and a team-oriented attitude is necessary.
New equipment and technology are continuously integrated into the unit.
