Job Selection Expectations:


Applications, resumes, letters of reference, and written samples will be reviewed for required certification; demonstrated related knowledge, skills, and abilities; and ability to communicate effectively. As candidates progress through the selection process, they may be asked to perform additional written exercises, complete panel interviews, and perform a sample lesson related to the subject area.


Application Requirements :


Applicants are expected to possess a valid and appropriate certificate for the vacant position at the time of application as well as all necessary clearances. Additional qualifications and experience will be considered and may be necessary or desirable for individual positions along with a demonstrated competency in writing and communication skills.


Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of medicine, emergency procedures, and referral services.
• Skill in organizing and administering school health programs.
• Ability to establish rapport with students and interact with faculty regarding their medical health as well as education.
• Ability to maintain accurate school health records and immunization records.
• Skill in communicable disease management, first aid and emergency care.
• Ability to maintain needed school health supplies.
• Ability to provide instruction in Health education.
• Ability to organize and administer a robust school benevolence program.
• Ability to present health and medical information to large and small audiences.
• Ability to actively participate in and contribute to building-level teams that include the SAP Team, MTSS Team, etc.
• Ability to manage a pandemic or other health crisis for a school building
• Ability to communicate in a manner which is sensitive to culture, gender, intellectual and physical differences.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people, such as subordinates, peers, or citizens.
• Ability to utilize the schoolwide positive behavior program to reinforce desired student behavior.
• Ability to communicate ideas verbally in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
• Ability to modify one's behavior, work methods, or plans in response to changing conditions and new information.
• Ability to assess one's own performance to make improvements or take corrective action.
• Ability to uphold district policy and professional ethical standards.
• Ability to control one's own emotions and remain objective and professional in stressful, sensitive, or personally unpleasant situations.
• Ability to use appropriate grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and spelling in written and/or electronic documents.
• Ability to maintain a positive working relationship with coworkers through comfortable and appropriate interpersonal interaction.
• Ability to provide supervisory duties of an aide assigned to the nursing office to support with clerical tasks
• Ability to coordinate services and support for students with outside agencies in the community
• Ability to participate in Kindergarten screening days in the summer to collect, review, and enter health records in order to ensure each child has met all requirements to begin Kindergarten

Anticipated Duration:


Full-time employee beginning in the 2026-2027 school year
