Position Overview

Resurge Rehab & Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Geriatric Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation center located in Falls Church, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents to assess their physical abilities and challenges, and develop individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and functional mobility.
• Implement and customize physical therapy interventions aimed at improving strength, balance, and overall mobility, helping residents achieve their personal rehabilitation goals.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to refine care strategies, ensuring a cohesive approach to each patient's rehabilitation needs.
• Educate residents and their caregivers on therapeutic practices, appropriate home exercises, and injury prevention strategies, empowering them to take charge of their health.
• Maintain detailed documentation of therapy services provided, consistent with state and federal regulations and facility standards, to track patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Assist in discharge planning by evaluating functional outcomes and recommending appropriate equipment or follow-up services to support sustained progress.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on geriatric patients, presenting an opportunity to work closely with older adults who may be recovering from major surgeries, managing chronic conditions, or seeking to improve their functional abilities. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Virginia Physical Therapist license or eligibility for licensure in Virginia.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain within an appropriate timeframe.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
• Excellent critical thinking and time management abilities, supporting effective patient evaluations and treatment planning.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience working in skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation hospitals, or settings focused on geriatric care.
• A proven track record of developing and implementing successful treatment plans for older adult populations.
• Experience working collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this role ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 annually, supplemented with a comprehensive benefits package. Our offerings include:
