Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR) - Orthopedic Specialty

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shifts for 3x12-hour schedule (07:00 - 19:30). Weekend requirements include every other weekend and every other holiday.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Orthopedic procedures for our Operating Room. This position requires strong surgical skills, particularly in orthopedic surgery, and recent experience within the last year. The nurse will be responsible for patient care in a fast-paced environment, assisting surgeons during procedures, and ensuring the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a variety of surgical procedures, particularly orthopedic surgeries.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs before, during, and after surgery.
• Ensure aseptic technique and compliance with surgical protocols.
• Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an operating room setting, with a strong focus on orthopedic procedures.
• Current New York State RN license (or proof of application).
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
• Experience with various surgical techniques is essential.
