DUTIES Monitors pool activities and takes preventative actions to maintain the safety of the pool area by warning against unsafe practices Responds to water emergencies, rescues, and assists patrons in the water Provides basic first aid to swimmers as required Reports and completes incident and accident reports Instructs swimming lessons, completes and maintains swim lesson records, logs, and certificates Records attendance of all pre-registered participants Maintain the pool area, sweep, hose down deck and pool area, dispose of trash, dirt, leaves, and other debris Test pool for proper chemical and water balances, and maintain equipment and supplies for the pool Other job, department-related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Maintain effective and courteous working relationships with parents, campers, co-workers, and community members Express maturity in thought and demonstrate good judgment in performing duties Ability to follow supervision and suggestions of management for improvement of service Willingness to cooperate with other employees and the public they serve Demonstrate good citizenship, honesty, loyalty, ethical behavior, and sobriety Applicants who meet the qualifications and have completed the required certifications will be invited for an interview.
