Overview
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel) in a hospital setting located in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date 09/21/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Weekly pay ranges from $1,787 to $1,865 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 3x12. This assignment includes floating to multiple medical and surgical units as needed during the rotation.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients in a float capacity across assigned units
- Monitor patient status, respond to acute changes, administer medications (IVs included), and manage treatments such as wound vacs and chest tubes
- Document nursing assessments and interventions in the Meditech EMR; operate Pyxis and other select unit equipment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and revise care plans; participate in bedside rounds and family communication
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, and standard precautions; assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed

Requirements
- Hawaii State RN license required prior to or by start of assignment (active Hawaii license must be in place; travelers not in possession of an active HI license must apply upon acceptance)
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC preferred
- 2–10 years of RN experience, with background in medical-surgical or related units; float experience beneficial
- Ability to float to Medical Unit; Laulima Unit; and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit
- Shifts are 12 hours, days (0645–1915); start date listed above
- Immunity documentation required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu of immunization proof
- Onboarding requires arrival the Thursday before start to complete employee health screening
