Behavioral Health Counselor

General Description: The staff clinician/counselor provides direct clinical services to IL Tech students, plans and delivers outreach during low volume periods, and consults with staff, faculty, parents, and community partners. S/he will participate in the overall mission and vision of the Student Health and Wellness Center, Division of Student Affairs and the University. We are seeking a team-oriented counselor with strong clinical skills to meet the increasing severity of college students' mental health needs. Demonstrated experience working with underrepresented student populations, a commitment to social justice, and competencies in individual and group therapy and crisis management are preferred. Department: Student Health and Wellness Center Position Category: Full Time Education & Experience: Master's Degree in a relevant field, including counseling, psychology or social work. Masters degree or higher in a mental health field (psychology, counseling, social work) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in individual and group counseling. Works experience in college counseling or with a college‑age or graduate school population is preferred. Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required. Independent problem‑solving skills and self‑directed work experience required.
