Case Manager 1

Aging, Disability and Veterans Services is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to provide services as a Case Manager 1.

As a Case Manager 1 (CM1) you will be responsible for providing eligibility determination services to applicants for cash, food, and medical benefits administered by the State of Oregon. You will conduct interviews in order to gather pertinent information, access multiple computer applications, and determine eligibility according to Oregon Administrative Rules and procedures in order to issue benefits in a timely manner.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill current and future full-time, part-time, regular, temporary, limited duration, and on-call positions at any of our locations:

  • East Branch located at 600 NE 8th St, Gresham, OR 97030
  • Mid Branch located at 11982 NE Glisan St, Portland, OR 97220
  • N/NE Branch located at Walnut Park Complex, 5325 NE MLK Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97211
  • Southeast Branch located at 4610 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97215
  • West Branch located at 209 SW 4th Ave, 1st floor Portland, OR 97204

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:

  • Education/ Training: Associate's degree
  • Experience: Two (2) years of paraprofessional level experience providing assistance and services to human services/social service clients, including older adults and persons with physical, developmental and/or multiple disabilities
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Type of Position: This AFSCME Local 88 union-represented full-time position is eligible for overtime.

Schedule: Core business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Serving the Public, Even During Disasters

Everyday, Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster, this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather, natural disaster, or other types of community emergency response. During these emergency responses, while typically there begins with a call for volunteers, county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
