Die Repair Technician

A well-established manufacturer is seeking experienced Die Repair Technicians to repair, rebuild, and maintain casting and trim dies. This hands-on role requires strong troubleshooting, welding, grinding, polishing, and production-tooling experience. Key Responsibilities Transport, clean, disassemble, repair, rebuild, and reassemble casting and trim dies. Use cranes, lift trucks, and die-cleaning equipment safely. Build and replace die segments, cores, details, trim punches, and related components. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, pictorials, and work instructions. Grind, polish, and restore die-cavity surfaces. Remove stuck castings and correct dimensional or tooling problems. Repair dies while mounted in production equipment when required. Perform welding in the die-repair department and manufacturing areas. Troubleshoot production-tooling failures and complete necessary repairs. Train and assist less-experienced employees as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Required Qualifications At least two years of die repair, tool and die, mold repair, or related skilled-trades experience. Experience repairing or rebuilding casting dies, trim dies, or production tooling. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Experience with welding, grinding, polishing, fitting, and die assembly. Ability to operate cranes, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or technical-school training in Tool and Die, Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field. Journeyperson Tool and Die certification or equivalent skilled-trades experience. Experience supporting die-casting or foundry operations.
