Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant – Grants The Staff Accountant – Grants monitors and audits financial records and transactions for restricted grant funds. Responsibilities Receives and maintains approved budgets for restricted grant awards; prepares journal entries and posts transactions to the general ledger. Prepares reimbursement requests and interim reports for expenditures required by grant agencies. Reviews and audits financial transactions posted to restricted grant revenue and expenditure accounts. Determines applicable indirect costs, prepares journal entries to charge indirect costs, and corrects errors. Posts transactions to the general ledger after approval by the Director of Accounting and Budgeting. Provides occasional monitoring and training of student employees on a project‑by‑project basis. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business field and accounting experience. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Proficient with accounting systems and Microsoft Office. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of bookkeeping and recordkeeping. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
