Job Description

What You'll Do: Work collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system Conduct exams, and write evaluations and reports Order and interpret diagnostic testing Manage medication Complete reclassifications and other reviews as indicated Make referrals for specialized care or treatment Perform duties in accordance with scope of practice; ODRC policies, procedures, protocols; and related American Correctional Association standards Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews Provide or share responsibilities of off-site 24-hour emergency telephone call coverage as needed (provision of on-call services are included as part of the normal job duties and do not garner extra compensation) Engage in collaborative agreements, as needed Some positions may require the selected physician to work in the role of Chief Medical Officer. Those duties include: Determining the need for specialty consults Attending professional meetings Managing on-call schedule Providing clinical supervision of all providers, ensuring that care is provided in accordance with ODRC policy and procedure and meets community standards

Qualifications

Certificate to practice medicine in state of Ohio as issued by State Medical Board pursuant to Section 4731.14 & 4731.281 of Revised Code.
