Expert System Administrator - Virtual Infrastructure

Salary: $220,000 - 240,000 per year Requirements:

• We require 15 years of system administration experience in programs and contracts with similar scope, type, and complexity.
• We require a bachelors degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university; five additional years of SA experience may be substituted in place of the degree.
• We need experience across multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, Unix, and Ubuntu.
• We need familiarity with system and network security policies and the ability to implement them.
• We require hands-on experience administering systems and networks, including monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting.
• We require experience building, deploying, and maintaining virtual machines.
• We need experience with Ansible.
• We require the ability to create and maintain system and network documentation.
• We need experience using Jira and Confluence.
• We require responsiveness to users and the ability to support enclave setup.
• We need experience with system hardware.
• We require experience with NetBox.
• We need SLURM administration experience and cluster management expertise.
• We require DevOps experience.
• We prefer familiarity with STE/STN.
• We prefer demonstrated follow-through on policies and tasking.
• We prefer experience updating Jira tickets, resolving issues, and closing tickets.

• We maintain existing customer network resources and support servers, storage, virtual infrastructure, new hardware, and related resources.
• We handle day-to-day operations, including creating and deleting virtual machines, applying security updates, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
• We manage tickets in Jira and keep work items moving through completion.
• We use automation tools and build workflows to streamline operations.
• We keep networks current by applying industry best practices.
• We advise on system and network design, mission architectures, and ways to simplify and improve network maintenance.
• We support annual inventory activities.
• We document systems and networks to ensure clear operational reference.
