Responsibilities

• Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric populations utilizing standardized testing and direct observation.
• Create individualized treatment plans that align with both short and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
• Deliver targeted speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
• Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to formulate unified care strategies.
• Provide education and support to patients and families to encourage progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout treatment.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Engage in continuous learning and collaboration with peers to stay abreast of advancements in the field.

Education Requirements

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Required Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred certificate of clinical competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be achieved within 30 days of employment.
