Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

What We're Looking For:

• Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility)
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Expertise in special education compliance and maintaining accurate documentation
• Strong behavior support and classroom management techniques
• Skilled in collaborating with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families
• Previous experience in a self-contained classroom or supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder is highly valued
• Familiarity with ABA principles, visual schedules, functional communication systems, social stories, and crisis prevention/de-escalation training is preferred

Your Day-to-Day:

• Develop and deliver lessons to meet students’ academic, social, communication, and adaptive needs following their IEPs
• Employ evidence-based instructional methods tailored to students with varying cognitive, sensory, and communication abilities
• Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as needed
• Collect, analyze, and report on student progress while ensuring compliance with state and federal special education guidelines
• Supervise paraprofessionals in the classroom and ensure effective teamwork
• Foster a classroom environment that is safe, engaging, and conducive to growth in self-regulation and independent living skills
