About Root Causes

Root Causes Oncology is the integrative oncology program of Root Causes Medicine, a functional medicine clinic in San Antonio, TX. Conventional care asks how to eliminate the cancer. We also ask a more fundamental question: why is the body allowing it to take hold in the first place?

Our practitioners work with patients to address those underlying causes, beginning with a weeklong immersive program. Patients travel for hours and across state lines for this care, and they love it - our NPS is above 80.

We're now building our marketing foundation, and this role is a central part of it.

The Opportunity

Demand already finds us: podcast listeners, referrals from practitioners, people searching for a naturopathic oncologist. Your job is to grow that flow and make sure nobody who reaches out falls through the cracks.

You own the path from first touch to booked discovery call. The enrollment conversation stays with our clinic team - your job is to fill their calendar.

What You'll Own

Demand
• Build landing pages for podcasts and partnerships
• Run email funnels and small paid tests on Meta and Google
• Keep a clear read on which channels are working, and shift budget toward them

Search
• Own SEO and SEM so the site and everything we publish is findable for the searches that matter - like "integrative oncologist" and "integrative cancer care"
• Run paid search where it performs

Pipeline
• Log every inquiry with its source
• Keep follow-up sequences running so nobody waits on us
• Handle open house RSVPs and follow-up

Referrals & Partners
• Keep referring practitioners and directories maintained, thanked, and easy to work with

Measurement
• Maintain attribution on every contact
• Maintain a pipeline leadership can see at any time
• Report weekly numbers: calls booked and enrollments behind them

Who You Are
• An operator with performance marketing experience - a systems thinker who builds infrastructure rather than just operating within it
• Numbers-fluent - you read a funnel and turn it into decisions
• Highly collaborative - you're joining a team that's passionate about building something meaningful, together
• Empathetic - this is sensitive work with people navigating cancer, and it shows in how you write and follow up
• Local and present - based in San Antonio or Austin, at the open houses, and close to the clinic team you hand off to
• Comfortable in a growing clinic where the process is still being built
