Compensation: $43.63 - $54.55 per hour

Job Overview

The Special Procedure Technologist plays a vital role in supporting the nursing and physician teams by managing the technical aspects of daily operations. This position involves assisting the Electrophysiology team with the preparation, execution, and completion of various procedures, including ablations and cardiac implants. The technologist is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality control and assurance while ensuring patient comfort during procedures in the electrophysiology lab.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Current and valid ARRT and NJ DEP licenses.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Preferred: At least 2 years of experience in radiology.
  • Preferred: Experience in Procedural Interventional Radiology.

Scheduling Requirements

This position requires a commitment of 36 hours per week.

Essential Functions

• Facilitates the daily work schedule and prepares rooms for procedures.
• Works closely with physicians to ensure accurate orders, x-ray requisitions, and lab results.
• Ensures proper technical exposure settings with both digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
• Involves programming digital computers, managing film stands, and operating contrast injectors.
• Responsible for radiation safety and protection, as well as coordinating ongoing education.
