Job Summary:

This role supports workflow improvement, clinical data analysis, and validation to inform practices and decision-making in Health Services. It involves working closely with the EHR team and technical teams responsible for EHR configuration and development. The position focuses on translating between medical staff, the Electronic Health Record system, and clinical data needs.

Core Duties:

• Clinical workflow documentation:
  • Document current workflows, identify gaps, support staff-facing improvements, and contribute to standardization across facilities.
  • Establish a documented inventory of HSU clinical workflows in EHR with prioritized improvement recommendations.
• Data extraction, analysis, and visualization:
  • Extract data from the EHR to answer clinical and operational questions, validating it against reliable data sets.
  • Build reports that inform practice and visualize data to support leadership decision-making.
  • Establish practices for clinical data extraction and reporting with completed reports answering live HSU questions.
• Validation and testing:
  • Validate EHR updates from a user perspective.
  • Ensure consistent testing coverage of the base system and support for MAR and related project components.
  • Document reduction in validation gaps on EHR changes.
• Direct support to medical staff:
  • Act as a clinical point of contact for EHR-related questions and requests, ensuring responsiveness.
  • Ensure successful handoff of documentation and established processes for continuity of work.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in structuring unclassified medical data from unstructured texts and mapping data elements to standard vocabulary.
• 5 years of experience pulling data out of electronic health record systems.
• 5 years of experience validating EHR data through triangulation with other data within the EHR.
• 5 years of experience documenting workflows from clinical practice into EHR data entry and data management.
• 5 years of experience communicating clinical and data findings clearly to non-technical audiences, including medical staff and leadership.
